Last Saturday I woke up around 6 am drove down to Boulder to hike Sanitas. I arrived around 6:45 and made it to the top around 7:30 am.
As I was climbing the sun was rising. When I arrived at the top I could see out 10+ miles over the clouds and the sun floated just above them. I met some other hikers at the top, and we chatted for awhile about Boulder before descending. Sanitas is mostly tabletops and staircases, requiring high stepping the whole way up! Close to the top you really start to feel the burn, because of the altitude, large rocks which you have to climb over and the steep grade. At the top it is very calm and quiet. Then on the way down it is less of an incline and makes for a good cool down! I am so glad I live in Boulder County and have the unique to experience the mountains up close in my backyard. I am the luckiest dude alive!

Last Sunday Zach and I decided to take a hike with Buck up the Mesa Trail to Mallory Caves. We had a great time and Buck had a chance to get some exercise. Along the trail we kept hearing reports of the top being icy, but paid no attention. When we arrived there were already two ladies trying to climb up with a rope left behind. After chatting with them for awhile we convinced them that they could make it up and we all climbed up. At the top, we checked out the view and the cave! Then we all climbed back down together and hiked home. It was a bast!
